F/X (movie)

F/X is a 1986 action film, released on Friday, February 7, 1986, starring Bryan Brown and Brian Dennehy.

A movies special effects man is hired by a government agency to help stage the assassination of a well known gangster. When the agency double cross him, he uses his special effects to trap the gangster and the corrupt agents. Rollie (Bryan Brown) is an expert in the art of Special Effects (F/X) and has a reputation build on many low budged hack and slash films (Including such titles as "I dismember momma") and is quite surprised to find that the FBI has a job for him. He is to stage the murder of a gangster about to enter the Witness Protection Program. He agrees, but then things get complicated. All the while a New York City police detective, Leo McCarthy (Brian Dennehy) is investigating the faked murder and can't understand why the FBI is even less helpful than usual.
